Please access here the early notice message to Parties for instructions on how to submit REDD+ forest reference emission levels and/or forest reference levels for technical assessment.

Early notice of submission for 2026 technical assessment is due by 10 November 2025. The submission deadline for the refence level is 12 January 2026.

IUFRO Global Forest Expert Panels Programme side event: Over a decade of REDD+: Outcomes and socio-ecological impacts

Forests play a pivotal role in regulating our global climate and represent a cornerstone of our strategy to tackle climate change. REDD+ was conceived as a mechanism to compensate low- and middle-income countries for the conservation of their forests.

A new assessment evaluates the actual on-the-ground impacts of REDD+ activities on forests, climate, biodiversity and people.
