REDD+ Community of Practice

What is the REDD+ Community of Practice (CP)?

Since the adoption of the Warsaw Framework for REDD+ in 2013, countries have made steady progress in implementing REDD+ activities. This framework is also recognized under Article 5.2 of the Paris Agreement. The first Global Stocktake further underscored the importance of halting and reversing deforestation and forest degradation by 2030. However, the current landscape of REDD+ implementation – particularly its interaction with evolving mechanisms under the Paris Agreement – has become increasingly complex. The UN Climate Change launched the UNFCCC REDD+ Community of Practice in 2025 as a dedicated platform for dialogue and technical exchange for REDD+ countries, donors and other stakeholders.

How to join the REDD+ CP?

Parties, relevant organizations and stakeholders can join the REDD+ Community of Practice by registering the REDD+ Web Platform. Once registered, users will be able to:

  • Receive regular updates on REDD+ (e.g. the REDD+ Newsletter);
  • Connect and interact with other users through the discussion forums;
  • Submit relevant documents via My Submissions; and
  • Share upcoming meetings and events through My Meetings.

Guidance on how to use the discussion forum is available here.
