In 2018, Paraguay have promulgated Law 6256 "That prohibits the transformation and conversion activities of areas with forest cover in the Eastern Region" that in its Art.3 establishes the National Forest Monitoring System ", where the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development and the National Forestry Institute were in charge of its operation.
